Welcome Statement and Solicitation from Event Chairman Wallace (Wally) McKay

Greetings to all!

30 years ago, the late Elijah Harper asked me to organize and coordinate his call for a Sacred Assembly in Canada.  Within a three-month span to the time of the actual assembly, more than 3,000 people registered and participated in this historic event.

Again, I am asked and privileged to organize the 30th Anniversary Commemorative event together with a National Planning Group who were a part of this Reconciliation Initiative 30 years ago!  We now go forward believing people that who are of the same heart for reconciliation will step up to support this historic event to rekindle and revitalize Elijah Harper's Vision with the required finances.

If this planned event resonates with your heart, whether you are able to attend or not, your kind and thoughtful donation will be much appreciated.  Please make donations to Canada Awakening Ministries who have graciously accepted to provide accounting and receipts for income tax purposes where requested.  Donations can be made via e-transfers using the email address canadaawakening@mymts.net or cheques can be made out to Canada Awakening Ministries, and mailed to that name with the following address -

Box 343, Niverville, MB R0A 1E0, Canada.

Businesses or organizations who sponsor a table for the meals that will be served during the Assembly for those who need sponsorships, can, if desired, be recognized with a notation on their table about the sponsorship of $800.00 for a table of eight, or $1,000.00 for a table of ten.

Your prayers, financial support and partnership will be greatly appreciated. Kee-Chi- Megwetch.

On behalf of the organizing Committee,

Wallace (Wally) McKay

Grand Chief, Emeritus, Nishnawbe- Aski Nation

In 1995, Elijah Harper was suffering from a mysterious illness that no medical doctor, nutritionist, medicine man, psychic or faith healer could diagnose let alone prescribe a cure.  In July of that year, Grand Chief Emeritus Lynda Prince took him to a Holy Spirit conference near Seattle, Washington, where it was discerned that his sickness was not physical, but spiritual. When a curse that was spoken over him was broken, he was instantly healed.

Subsequent to his healing in July of 1995, he called for a Sacred Assembly for December of that year in which he stated that in all of the discussions regarding land claims and self-government, that "the political process has failed us, and I believe that what is missing is the spiritual element."  Elijah believed that just as the root of his sickness was not merely physical but spiritual, that at a foundational level, the dysfunctions in present-day Canadian society are at their root spiritual and not political.

Then Prime Minister Jean Chrétien agreed, and that while those in the political sphere must help, that the spiritual leaders of Canada were going to need to take the leadership role in implementing Elijah's Vision.  For this reason, those who participated in the 1995 Sacred Assembly would now like to see Elijah’s vision revitalized and rekindled.

Therefore, a 30th Anniversary Commemoration of the 1995 Sacred Assembly is being planned for Winnipeg from January 23 to 25, 2026.  Elijah's Vision needs to be both remembered and revitalized now more than ever so that a new generation of leaders in both government and faith communities can understand their role in building healthy relationships based upon a spiritual foundation that is the key to bring healing to the social, economic and environmental issues which continue to divide the Canadian society today.
